progress journal #3
I guess that since we have until next thursday we have more time to work on our project. Im not sure what else there is to do. I'm trying to think of questions people would ask us after our presentation. I want to be able to answer any questions someone might through at us. Im going to think of a better way to present and make sure that each of get to talk an equal amount of time. As far as the website, I have more time to fix grammatical errors and that sort of thing.
progress journal #2
12/3 - i added basic info to the website. I took careful notes on what we discussed with the teacher and incorporated them into our website (audience, a third media, less wordy information, statisics)
12/7 - the group met to discuss major details such as website layout, brochure, and flyers. we tried to more clearly define who our target audience is. we also looked for youtube videos that supports our cause
12/8 - i changed information on the website to be less wordy. readers want short and to the point. I also found statistics for how many people are innocent on death row but are killed anyway. I also found a picture that shows what states have/dont have death penalty.
12/9 - our group met and we talked about how we are going to present. we changed our group name from ADPG (anti death penalty group) to DPA (death penalty awareness) we made final revisions to brochure and flyer. AFter the group met, I finished adding information and details to the website.

Proposal Presentation
Our proposal is Anti-Death Penalty. We are looking into making a website and informational cards. I am trying to use weebly to make a website. Does anyone know any programs that are better/easier? I have only just started this website and its kind of confusing.

Willy Wonka
This weekend is my High School's musical, Willy Wonka. They are doing to older (much better version) not the newer one with Johnny Depp. I am pretty excited to see it because my sister is in the musical pit. She plays viola, but this musical did not have viola parts so she is playing violin. I was in musical pit on violin sophomore-senior year. When I was in high school, we did "Into the Woods", "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Damn Yankees". I really wish I could have been in Willy Wonka! I think its a great idea for a musical, but I wonder how they are going to pull off things like the blueberry part, and the part with Augustus Gloop being sucked up the chocolate river hose. I think it will be very interesting to see.

Is this semester over yet?
I don't know about you all, but I am more than ready for this semester to end. I have a feeling that next semester is going to be way easier than this semester. I mean, we already have one semester under out belt, and we know what to expect out of our classes from now on. Im using this semester as more of a trial and error kind of semester. I am trying to develop study/homework habits that I didn't need to have in high school. High school was so easy, and I regret complaining about it being difficult. Being in college, and looking back everything was much more relaxed. Everyone is counting down the days until thanksgiving, but I am counting down the days until the beginning of next semester.

Xavier
So I'm thinking that this weekend is going to be pretty good one. I was going to try and not go home, because i've been home almost every weekend, and stay on campus. But I have decided to go home friday after class, then saturday morning me and two friends are going to drive to cincinatti to visit our friend who goes to xavier. The only downside is, is that I have homework to do on the way (like finishing my position paper). We are going to check out her dorm and eat and possibly go to a football game. I will probably be coming back to muncie saturday night, it just depends on how tired i am!

Halloween!
So this year for halloween I have to go to a football game, because of marching band. But my entire family (aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins) are all coming. Im pretty excited to see everyone. My family is hilarious! My cousins are dressing up and i think my aunts are as well. Our homecoming halftime this game will be music from earth wind and fire. After the game I plan on hanging out with my family. On Sunday, I have a ton of homework to do. I have begin writing the position paper, then do a short essay for my Music Ed class, and study for a few tests.

Fall Break!
I have never been more excited for fall break than I am this year! I am going home to do absolutely nothing! I am only going to sleep in, do some homework and pracice my violin. My family is going camping, but I have decided to go home and relax. I wouldnt be able to relax camping because once one person is awake, everyone is awake. And my dad wakes up around 6-7am everyday. I might even hang out with some of my friends from high school. I cannot wait to sleep in my bed in my room because the dorm room here is right next to a street lamp and so the room is always full of light and my room at home is pitch black. anything that has a light on it is covered up! I cant wait untill my 6pm class is over today and I can head home!

This was the worst week ever.
This past week of school was the worst week ever. I was extremely sick all week. I was freezing, had a massive headache, coughing and sore throat. I couldnt concentrate hardly at all. All I did was sleep when I didnt have to be in class. Im lucky that I was able to do any homework at all. I am so glad its the weekend. I cant wait for fall break so that I can sleep in and relax.

The Scariest Movie of all time
If you have ever seen "The Blair Witch Project" or "Quarantine" then you are familiar with low budget horror films. Put that sort of picture with the horror of "The Exorcist" then you have created the movie "Paranormal Activity". The actors are not well known and the movie appears to be a documentary. It is a "documentary" of a young couple who experience strange things during the night. They wake up with lights flickering, doors shutting, and footsteps in the hallways. Micah is a very sarcastic and playful person who urged his girlfriend, Katie, to let him film the happenings. Katie is studying to be an English teacher and isnt thrilled that Micah is filming. He ends up buying a Ouija board, which then tries to communicate with the ghost or demon. The scariest horror of all is the unknown and "Paranormal Activity" does just that.

I actually saw this movie and a friend told me that it wasnt scary at all and that people wanted their money back, but thats FALSE! It is the scariest movie i have ever seen. Movies never freak me out like this one did. I have heard that they had to stop the showing of this movie in other states because it is so scary and at least 2 people have been hospitalized from being so scared! If you are a big fan of horror movies, i'd recommend this one!

Michael Jackson's Ghost!
You need to make this full screen in order to be able to see the ghost. Its from CNN so its ligit, trust me.
Analysis and Synthesis
So for this paper I really need to work on NOT summarizing the song. My song is "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas (i posted the music video earlier). I am trying to make a thesis and then prove it by saying the song is about watching your children grow up and spending time with family and friends. It took me forever to pick and song and make a thesis statement. But now that I finally have some sort of direction, I can finally start fixing my paper.

Achmed!
One of my friends showed me this last night and it is hilarious. Check it out. Jeffdunham.com is another place where you can find videos of him.
Mtv
Pretty much every show on MTV is my favorite. My top favorite would be Americas best dance crew, real world, and rr/rw challenges. I think the abdc is one of my favorite because i think hip dancing is really cool. If fact, the other day in speech class our instructor asked us what our dream prfoessions would be and i answered a hip hop dancer! (my real profession is to be a high school orchestra director). You would get paid a lot of money and you meet a ton of famous people. So. Why not!?
Fun weekend
So this weekend was pretty exciting. Even though BSU lost, the football game was a lot of fun. Some of my friends from high school came to watch the marching band perform the Dance Craze show. The morning started off to a bad start. I had to be at the stadium for marching band at 8am and one of my friends was going to pick me up. But. Her car got towed so I ended up being 10 minuets late to band. But it wasnt a big deal because the band was still warming up. Later that evening my sister came and she spent the night. We went out to eat and we went to a haunted house. The next day my parents took us to dinner. Im looking forward to next weekend because my sister has a band contest and i actually get to sleep in this time!

Fall!
I am extremely glad fall is finally here. I love fall weather. I'd much rather be cold than hot. You can always add extra layers of clothes when you are cold, but there is only so much you can take off if you are hot! Also, since lafollete has no ac, the rooms are much much cooler!
Another exciting thing about fall is october, which means haunted houses! Haunted houses are the best. Getting scared is tons of fun!
Analysis
So, im thinking, "little wonders", by rob thomas is going to be the song i use for my analysis. im not sure. I also have "bohemian rhapsody by queen. I have info about both songs. Im thinking "llittle wonders" will be a better choice.

I HATE MACGAMUT!
Music Majors have to take sight singing and we have homework on the computer called MacGAMUT. It is a program that is supposed to train to hear notes, intervals, scales, etc and then be able to identify them. This program. SUCKS. First the installation process was confusing. You had to install it. Get these presets from your teacher, save them to your desktop. then download a startup file. Normally when you open a program you click on the icon. Well for this you click on the start up file. You have to send the start up file to the teacher for a grade. The program is no at all easy. You have to get so many right to pass to the next level. I spent one hour doing one of the exercises and got none of them right. so, I gave up. and if you dont finish the homework, you get an F. (its a pass-fail kinda thing.) but if i do it and then send it, its counted as late the highest grade you get is a B-. You have to do this program and pass it in order to pass the class. I HATE IT!

My top 3 movies! And then some..
1. Harry Potter- I am always looking forward to seeing what i read on the big screen. I think that my favorite one is is the 6th, then 5,3,4,2,1. I think the oldest ones are last on my list because they are the beginning. You are still finding out who the characters are. I prefer the movies with more action. I am looking forward for the last two movies, but at the same time i'm not ready for the series to end! If you are someone who just sees the movies, I would suggest reading the series. They have left out information necessary to understanding the full background.
2. Transformers 2 - I actually did not want to see the first one at all I thought it looked stupid and something i wouldnt be interested in. But I was talked into seeing it and it became one of my favorite movies. The second one was tons better than first (and not just because of megan fox, but that is a plus!) I thought the movie was intense and filled with action. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
3. X-men origins: wolverine- I have started like the x-men saga recently and this newest addition is filled with action and information to the origins (hence the title) of wolverine. I didnt know what to expect and I want to see it again!
I also like Knocked up, marley and me, alien vs predator, POC, The dark knight. I just like movies in general. I want to see the hangover, the last house on the left, and superbad.
I have started liking horror movies. I used to hate horror movies because as i little kid I got nightmares all the time. Now I live for them. If you know of any good ones let me know! (Has anyone seen halloween 2 yet, ? is it even out, if so how is it?
My first week of school at BSU.
So I definitely feel that the first week of school was one of the worst weeks of my life. I was stressing out from the homework piling up, I was exhausted after having just finished the most intense band camp. Band camp was thirteen hours a day and it was extremely hot. I wasn't used to walking to class and not seeing one familiar face. In high school I had classes with all the same people and we would all go to class together. It took me a while to get used to have to use blackboard for some of the classes. Its different having to be responsible for making sure you know what the homework is. That first weekend after school let out, I went home and hung out with some of my friends. One friend goes to Uindy, another went to IU but transerferred to Uindy because she wanted to live at home (uindy is maybe 5 minutes from our houses) and another Xavier in Cincinnati, ohio. I felt better after talking to them because we all felt the same way about our first weeks of school. And im sure that there are other BSU people who felt the same. But now that we are almost done with our third week of school, im starting to fall into a routine and i will walk with people that i know from band. I hear that the first semester is difficult to adjust to, but the second semester is way better.

No idea
So I dont exactly know what i want to write about in my memior. I have a list of things i could write about, but I dont know if i like them. So, im just gonna ramble about one of the things i have down.... im not going to use this one, i cant write enough about it!
The summer before my senior year in high school was spent either making breadsticks at donatos or practicing with the marching band. I finally had a break so i called my friends to hang out and we decided we were gonna meet and and then drive to another friend's house and convice him to hang out with us.
Both of my parents being cops, I was taught to drive cautiously, and well, you can probably imagine how it would be. Seatbelts, mirrors, no loud music, hands on 10 and 2, signal every turn, come to complete stops, how fast are you going, no cell phone! So I as was driving to my friends house, what was i doing? Talking on my cell phone. The road that I was driving is a speed trap. There are always cops. I was going 42. 42 and talking on my cell phone. The cop pulls me over, and I had no idea what i did. I couldnt breathe. I was panicing, I couldnt find the registration... I couldnt even answer him to tell him where i was going. I just made a wierd wheezing noise. The speed limit was 30. Ticket. I was so upset that i didnt even call my friends to tell them i was going home. I was so mad. When I got my licensed I told myself i was never going to get one. When I came home, I handed my parents the ticket, and went to my room. I was punishing myself before my parents could take my license away. I didnt drive the next day, nor the day after that. Later I found out that my parents did not even care that i got the ticket. They didnt take my license away like i thought they would. Now i never speed.
One day when i was going to a high school football game, I was driving on the highway to get the school, and an ambulence was in my blind spot, and turned its siren on. I thought it was a cop i started to pull over and hyperventalate! I always think that cops are watching me now!

White Water Rafting
Over the summer I went on my first ever vacation without my parents. I was surprised that my parents let me go. I was always the one out of my friends who had a curfew, even after i turned 18. I went to Gatlinburg to camp and go white water rafting for a weekend. I'd have to say that whitewater rafting is the most exciting thing in the world. I was nervous about it, i was afraid that i would fall out of the raft. The river wasn't too difficult, mostly 3's and a few 4's. The river was only a mile and the trip took about 2 hours. Next summer we are planning another camping trip for a longer period of time on a river that is five to six miles long. I was told that this river will be more of a challenge and the rapids are level 5's. My river guide for this summer said he used to work on the the river we are planning on doing next year and said that people fall out left and right and he enjoyed it until and older woman broke a bone. I cannot wait for next summer!
